I'd like to make the http-uri properties (eg representativeLithology_uri) in the GeoSciML Thematic View schema mandatory. If a provider doesn't have the necessary data they will return 'http://www.opengis.net/def/nil/OGC/0/unknown'.

After all, these are the properties that are necessary for the interoperability of the mapping services.
