[auscope-geosciml] Dependencies of conceptual models on GML

Colleagues -

While doing some configuration management exercises, we have discovered that the GeoSciML UML models in the have package dependencies on GML.
Is this correct?
GML is an encoding standard, while the UML models for GoeSciML should be 'conceptual models' - i.e. at a higher abstraction level than GML.
If you think you have dependencies on GML, could these perhaps be expressed as dependencies on

(a) Data-types from ISO 19103

(b) The general feature model from ISO 19109

(c) The 'feature-instance' model from O&M 2.0

(d) Another conceptual model
Would it be possible to remove these dependencies, perhaps by moving them to a more suitable target?
