We'll be mapping all our "early/lates" to "upper/lower" terms for GeoSciML/OneGeology services.

Cheers,
Ollie

Thanks Agnes,
It looks like the 1GE are using "Early/Lower" and "Late/Upper" in the prefLabel prefixes, so I'm not sure where MRT got the use of Early/Late from.

Steve - Perhaps the Geoscience Concepts/Multilingual Task Group can establish a reference CGI SKOS/RDF implementation of the ISC chart on behalf of the ISC, based on the 1GE work?

Cheers

Hi,

for CGI, BRGM did not provide vocabulary service for age (because this vocab was only available as an excel version).

We have provided a vocab service for age in 1GE, using Upper and Lower (http://192.168.6.51/eXist2010/rest//db/SKOS/1GE201001/1GE_Ages.xml). We have built this SKOS file using the excel version (but I do not remember where we found it. It was on the Wiki).

See http://srvgeosciml.brgm.fr/eXist2010/brgm/client.html, you can select 1GE201001 or CGI201001

Agnès

Objet : [auscope-geosciml] GeoSciML Ages: Upper/Lower or Early/Late?

Mineral Resources Tasmania (MRT) are currently configuring their GeoSciML geology WFS and have identified a potential conflict between GeoSciML age term usage and the ICS usage, with GeoSciML using "Early" and "Late', whereas the International Stratigraphic Chart uses "Lower" and "Upper".

I'm unsure where MRT have obtained their 'age' vocabularies (BRGM vocabulary service perhaps?) as the latest CGI Vocabulary I can find uses "Lower" and "Upper"

Is there an Excel version of this age vocabulary available on the Wiki somewhere?

Also, can the providers of the vocabulary services check that their services are using ICS "Upper" and "Lower" terms?

Cheers
