Hi Steve,

Trunk UML model is sorted.

If you are happy to tag version 2.0 now, feel free to copy the trunk uml to the 2.0 tag/model directory.

There are 2 XSD schemas in trunk/schema directory
  - geosciml-portrayal2.0.xsd (GML3.1 with changes to age attributes and addition of "any:lax")
  - geosciml-portrayal_GML3.2.xsd. (GML3.2 without changes to age or "any:lax")

Can you confirm that we are going with GML3.1 schema doc as the final one? If so, copy it to "geosciml-portrayal.xsd" in the v2.0 tag/schema directory.

Cheers,
Ollie

Ollie-Thanks for the catch-please update, I'll be on vacation for a week starting today. I had been thinking this had been done, but never checked carefully. I've been working with the schema directly...

Hi Steve,

Could we clean up the https://www.seegrid.csiro.au/subversion/GeoSciMLTV/trunk/uml directory.

The current situation:

GeoSciML-Portrayal.xml - added 9-JUL-2011 by you, with no further modifications
            - log note = "populate repository. rename thematicView to portrayal. xsd and current xmi file loaded. This xsd is hand crafted to change thematicView to Portrayal. Look for subsequent xmi updates to synchronize"
            - this appears to be the XMI that corresponds to the v1.0 schema release
            - application schema name and diagram name is "GeoSciML - Thematic View"
            - attributes in alphabetical order in diagrams, but the sequenceNumber tags seem OK

GeoSciML-ThematicView.xml - last modified 7-AUG-2011 by you
            - log note= "rename from thematicView to portrayal order of display of attributes in EA is alphabetic. Not clear how to get them in sequenceNumber order"
            - application schema name and diagram name is "GeoSciML - Portrayal"
            - attributes are in random order in diagram, but the sequence number tags seem OK

GeoSciML-ThematicView2.xml - added 29-MAR-2012 by you, with no further modifications
            - log note = "copy RC2 XMI for UML model from thematic_view/trunk/uml.The GeoSciML-ThematicView.xml file in thematic_view/trunk/uml and both GeoSciML-ThematicView.xml and GeoSciML-Portrayal in GeoSciMLTV/trunk/uml are 192 kb, file dates in GeoSciMLTV are both 7/8/2011 about 8AM; '-ThematicView.xml' was saved last. Have to load these in EA to figure out what's what."
            - application schema name and diagram name is "GeoSciML - Thematic View"
            - attributes are in sequenceNumber order
            - minor typo in "source" stereotype in ShearDisplacementStructureView

None of the XMI's appear to have their "upper" and "lower" age attributes changed to "older" and "younger", nor is there is the "any" attribute in any of them.

I suggest that we:
1) delete GeoSciML-ThematicView.xml and GeoSciML-ThematicView2.xml
2) keep GeoSciML-Portrayal.xml, and
            a) change the app schema package name to "GeoSciML-Portrayal"
            b) order the attributes according to sequence Number in the diagrams (5 minute job)
            c) change the "upper" and "lower" age names to "older" and "younger"
            d) add the "any" attribute
            e) update the various app schema tagged values to reflect v2.0 namespace, schema doc name, etc

I could do these changes for you if you like. It should be very quick.

Cheers,
Ollie

Hi Steve,

+1

Some notes:

1. Remember that the GeoSciML mailing list is now geosciml at lists.opengeospatial.org<mailto:geosciml at lists.opengeospatial.org> . You accidentally sent this message to the old mail list address.

2. I created a tag directory for v1.0 GeoSciML-Portrayal that we neglected to do when we released v1.0, and moved the v1.0 schema doc in there. I created an empty v2.0 tag directory while was there.

3. When you move the v2.0 schema doc from trunk into the v2.0 tag directory, you should rename it from "geosciml-portrayal2.0.xsd" to "geosciml-portrayal.xsd"

4. Can you rationalise the three UML models that are currently in https://www.seegrid.csiro.au/subversion/GeoSciMLTV/trunk/uml down to just one working copy?

Cheers,
Ollie

Subject: [auscope-geosciml] GeoSciml portrayal schema

There's a version 2.0 GeoSciML portrayal schema in %subversion%\GeoSciMLPortrayal\trunk\schema, with the following modifications we discussed back in March:
2012-03-28: Add <xs:any processContents="lax" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> at end of the element sequence for each portrayal type. This allows for the insertion of other elements, particularly allowing for ESRI ArcGIS server tendency to throw in objectID, length and area elements
Also change upper to older and lower to younger in age element names and descriptions to avoid inherent ambiguity about what is older and what is younger.
Add gmlsf level 0 declartion in annotation element. Question: does having xsd:any element with unbounded cardinality violate level 0 proscription that max cardinality is 1?

I'd like to move this schema to 'tags' and put it also at http://schemas.geosciml.org/geosciml-portrayal/2.0/

Please reply with a +1 if this is OK with you, or a -1 if not

Thanks
steve
