Hi all,
since the option for the 2013 St. Petersburg meeting for CGI Council was not included I would like to suggest this option again.
For me, taken into account the trouble with acceptance of international meetings, it would be the best option.
All the best.
Robert

Hi all,
I am forwarding an email from Grigory Brekhov regarding his offer of St Petersburg for a meeting in 2013. If possible, he would like to know one way or the other before November 19th.
I think it would be opportune now to make some concrete plans for CGI/OneGeology/IWG working group meetings in 2013. Re the CGI Council meeting - an October or November 2013 meeting in Denver associated with the GSA Annual Meeting (27th-30th Oct) has received widespread support from council members (http://doodle.com/qntb38tgcnim27vq).
Re GeoSciML meeting – there will be an inaugural OGC/CGI GeoSciML Standards Working Group meeting associated with the OGC meeting in Redlands, USA in January 14-18. Other OGC meetings are in March in Abu Dhabi, and in December at Bombay – neither of which have my personal vote for a 1G/GeoSciML/Vocabularies geoscience-related meeting.
Tim (1G), Steve (vocabs working group) – any preferences?
Cheers,
Ollei

Hi Ollie
Federal Agency on Mineral of Russia (Rosnedra) begins drawing up a plan of exhibitions, conferences and meetings for 2013. The application deadline is November 19, 2012. If we include the meeting of the working groups of GeoSciML/OneGeology to the Rosnedra plan, the status of the meeting will be higher.
In any case we are ready to create the conditions for the meeting. The inclusion in the Rosnedra plan is not obligatory, it is a recommendation.
Regards
Grigory

Hi Grigory,
My apologies for the late reply. Thank you for confirming your offer of St Petersburg. As yet we have not confirmed any venues for meetings in the next 12 months, but we will definitely keep you in mind.
On another matter, I have also not forgotten about sending you the data model for our national geological dataset. Unfortunately we have had some difficulty getting the final design settled (we are a couple of months behind our original schedule now!), but we are determined to do it right, so we are not rushing it.
Our final geodatabase structure will, for the first time, make our data fully compliant with the GeoSciML, GeoSciML-Portrayal data standards, and the OneGeology profile.
Cheers,
Ollie

Ollie,
We have preliminary agreed with administration of our institute to hold meetings of the working groups of GeoSciML/OneGeology in St. Petersburg, Russia. If you have not decided on plans for 2013, I propose you to include our version into discussion. Period of the meeting is for you to decide, but the best time in St. Petersburg is early and middle June - < >.
Regards
Grigory Brekhov
