Cool. CAN i use GeoSciML to describe in 3D underground rock layers - e.g. A salt dome?

Cheers

Ron

Hi Ron,

Does GeoSciML use GML 3D? - Yes, we use standard GML elements (1D, 2D, or 3D) for representing spatial features.

Does it follow the rules for application schemas in GML? - As far as I am aware, yes. Although GeoSciML is not yet published under the OGC banner, we have endeavoured to follow all OGC rules in the previous versions of GeoSciML published under the IUGS-CGI banner.

Cheers,
Ollie

Does GeoSciML use GML 3D? Does it follow the rules for application schemas in GML?

Cheers

GeoSciML Standards Working Group

OGC TC Meeting

Arlington, USA

Monday 24 March, 3pm, USA EDT

Agenda

1. Review of work with defining requirements for the conceptual model for GeoSciML v4

· see XMI package in GeoSciML Subversion at branches/3.2.0/abstractSpecification/Requirementsv3.2.xml

2. Discuss bundling of requirements classes to define conformance classes (along the lines of portrayal, basic geo map, and extensions)

· see GeoSciML v4 trunk uml for proposals

3. Discuss implementation spec. The conceptual conformance classes might be implemented in different ways, e.g. simple feature for portrayal, complex features for more content-rich classes. Use of abstract classes to decouple namespaces (pattern being used in ISO19115‑3)

4. Review the future use of workarounds in GeoSciML for:

· Encoding of borehole intervals in WFS/GML

· FES inability to query number pairs in SWECommon QuantityRange elements

5. JSON implementation?
