Hi Scott,

Could you please create a link on the GeoSciML OGC page<http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/geosciml> to link to a new Chinese translation of the OGC spec document - http://www.geosciml.org/doc/geosciml/4.1/documentation/ogc_spec_translations/16-008_OGC_Geoscience_Markup_Language_GSML4.1-CN2018.08.18.docx

Could you also acknowledge that the translation was done by the China Geological Survey.

Many thanks,

Ollie Raymond

Subject: [TC-Announce] revision to Best Practice document type

Dear Technical Committee,

The Planning Committee has recommended that the current Best Practice document type instead divided into two document types, each still an official position of the OGC. The document types are proposed as follows:

1. Best Practice: documentation of the use, profiling, or extension of one or more OGC standards (example: “Common Operating Picture for Oil & Gas Emergency Response” or the DGIWG profiles of WMS and WFS); and

2. Community Practice: documentation of implemented practices, standards, specifications, etc. originating outside of OGC, but which are relevant to interoperability requirements in the OGC (examples: the original Best Practice document that first brought CDB to the OGC, GeoDCAT-AP).

I propose the attached text as a revision to the Technical Committee Policies and Procedures (TC PnP). Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas on this topic. We will discuss in Stuttgart with a plan to revise and vote upon the TC PnP after that meeting.

Thanks and Regards,

Scott Simmons
